Hon'ble Lt. Governor, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has accorded approval,
today, to the proposal submitted by the Directorate of School Education for
reopening of schools and declaring the mode of passing of examinations.
The students of classes from 1 to 9 of all regions of Union Territory of
Puducherry are declared "ALL PASS". The students of 10th & 11th Std in
Puducherry and Karaikal will be declared pass as per guidelines of Tamil Nadu
Board. The 10th & 11th Std students of Mahe and Yanam regions will be declared
pass as per the guidelines of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh Boards respectively.
The schools will function for 5 days in a week and Saturday and Sunday will
be declared holidays. The schools will function till 315 March 2021 for classes
from 1st to gth The summer vacation will commence from 1st April, 2021.
However, classes for 10 11 & 12 standards will be conducted as per the schedule
of examinations of the respective State Boards.
Hon'ble Lt. Governor accorded approval for the following two continuing
schemes
1. Approval was accorded for sanction of Rs.29.65 Cr for payment of Old Age/Widow/destitutes pension to 1,54,847 beneficiaries.2. Expost facto expendirue sanction of Rs.24.35 Lakh for purchase of diet and non diet items to Anganwadi Centres of Mahe and Yanam regions.
Hon'ble Lt. Governor has also accorded approval for declaration "Dry Days" (All
the Arrack, Toddy, Liquor shops, Clubs, Bars and Restaurants serving liquor shall remain
closed) under Excise Rules from 4th to 6th April, 2021 on account of Polling and from
2nd May to 4 p.m. on 3rd May 20210n account of counting,
