கேரள மாநிலம் திருவனந்தபுரத்தில் உள்ள அரசு தொடக்கப்பள்ளியில் அந்த அரசு பஸ் கம்பீரமாக நின்றுகொண்டிருக்கிறது. மாணவர்களை சுற்றுலா எதுவும் அழைத்துச் செல்ல பஸ் வந்துள்ளதா என்று அருகில் சென்று பார்த்தால்தான், அந்த பழைய மாடி பஸ், நவீன வகுப்பறையாக மாறியிருப்பது தெரியவருகிறது. வகுப்பறையாகும் பஸ்கள் ஓடி ஓடி உழைத்து ஓய்ந்த கேரள சாலை போக்குவரத்துக் கழக பஸ்களை பள்ளி மாணவர்களுக்கான வகுப்பறையாக மாற்ற மாநில அரசு முடிவு செய்திருக்கிறது. 

அதன்படி முதல்கட்டமாக 2 பழைய பஸ்களை அரசுப் பள்ளிகளுக்கு வழங்க மாநில போக்குவரத்துத் துறை மந்திரி ஆன்டனி ராஜு ஒப்புக்கொண்டார். அதன்படி, போக்குவரத்து டெப்போ ஒன்றில் ஒதுக்கப்பட்டு கிடந்த ஒரு காலாவதி தாழ்தள மாடி பஸ், திருவனந்தபுரம் மணக்காட்டில் உள்ள அரசு தொடக்கப்பள்ளியில் ‘கலர்புல்’ நவீன வகுப்பறையாக மாறியிருக்கிறது. குளிர்சாதன வசதியுடன்... இதன் கீழ்த்தளம், டி.வி., குளிர்சாதன வசதி, பலவண்ண டேபிள், பெஞ்சு, நாற்காலிகள், புத்தக அடுக்குகளுடன் அதிநவீன வகுப்பறையாக காட்சி அளிக்கிறது. பஸ்சின் மேல்தளம், மாணவர்கள் படிப்பதற்கும், விளையாட்டாக நேரத்தைக் கழிப்பதற்கும் ஏற்றவகையில் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. 

பஸ்சின் வெளிப்புறம் இரு பக்கவாட்டு பகுதிகளிலும் பறவைகள், மரங்கள், விலங்குகள், புத்தகங்கள் என்று மாணவர்களை கவரும்வகையில் அழகிய ஓவியங்கள் தீட்டப்பட்டுள்ளன. சில லட்சங்களே செலவு வகுப்பறை கட்டிடங்கள் கட்ட நிறைய செலவாகும் என்ற நிலையில், ஒரு பஸ்சை வகுப்பறையாக மாற்ற சில லட்சங்களே ஆனதாம். கேரளாவில் கொரோனா தொற்று காரணமாக மூடப்பட்டிருந்த பள்ளிகள், 2 ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பின் நேற்று திறக்கப்பட்டன. அப்படி மணக்காடு பள்ளிக்கு வந்த குழந்தைகளுக்கு புது ‘பஸ் வகுப்பறை’ இனிய அதிர்ச்சியாக இருந்தது. பஸ் முற்று முழுதாகவே வகுப்பறையாக மாற்றப்பட்டிருந்தாலும், டிரைவர் இருக்கையையும், ஸ்டியரிங் வீலையும் மட்டும் அப்படியே விட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். மாணவர்கள் ‘சும்மா’ பஸ் ஓட்டி மகிழவாம்!
