கார் வைத்திருப்பவர்கள் பலருக்கும் தெரியும், ஒவ்வொரு முறை சர்வீசுக்கு விடும்போதும், காரின் அடிப்பகுதியில் ரப்பர் பெயிண்ட் அடிக்க வேண்டும் என்பர். இவை எல்லாமே ஓரளவு தீர்வு தருமே தவிர நிரந்தர தீர்வாக இருப்பதில்லை. கடலோரப் பகுதியில் உப்புக் காற்று வீசும் பகுதியில் உள்ள கார்கள் விரைவிலேயே துருப்பிடிக்க ஆரம்பித்துவிடுகின்றன. ஆனால் வெளிநாடுகளில் விற்பனை செய்யப்படும் கார்களுக்கு 12 ஆண்டு வரை துருப்பிடிக்காமலிருக்க உத்தரவாதம் அளிக்கப்படுகின்றன. 

இந்தியாவில் செயல்படும் கார் தயாரிப்பு நிறுவனங்கள் ஏற்றுமதி செய்யும் கார்களுக்கு இதே உத்தரவாதம் அளிக்கப்படுகிறது. ஆனால் இங்குள்ள கார்களுக்கு அவை அளிக்கப்படுவதில்லை. வெளிநாட்டு கார் தயாரிப்பு நிறுவனங்கள் தங்கள் கார்களில் இரும்புத் தகடுகளுக்குப் பதில் இரும்புத் தகடுகளில் துத்தநாக மேற்பூச்சு (கேல்வனைஸ்டு ஸ்டீல்) பயன்படுத்துவது தெரியவந்தது. வெளிநாட்டு கார் தயாரிப்பு நிறுவனங்கள் தங்கள் கார்களுக்கு 12 ஆண்டுகள் வரை உத்தரவாதம் அளிக்கின்றன. 

 உலகிலேயே அதிகமான கார்களை உற்பத்தி செய்யும் நாடுகள் பட்டியலில் இந்தியா 6-வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது. கேல்வனைஸ்டு ஸ்டீல் உபயோகிப்பதன் மூலம் இரும்புத் தகடுகளின் எடை குறையும். இதனால் கார்களின் செயல் திறன் மேம்படும். இந்தியாவின் ஒட்டுமொத்த உள்நாட்டு உற்பத்தியில் (ஜிடிபி) 5 சதவீத அளவுக்கு துருப்பிடிப்பதால் இழப்பு ஏற்படுகிறது. சாதாரண ஸ்டீல் மூலம் தயாரிக்கப்படும் கார் வைத்திருக்கும் உரிமையாளர் கார் வாங்கும் போது டெப்லான் கோட்டிங் என்பதற்காக ரூ.8 ஆயிரமும், அடுத்த ஆறு ஆண்டுகளில் துருப்பிடிக்காமலிருப்பதற்காக அதிகபட்சம் ரூ.20 ஆயிரம் வரை செலவிடுகிறார். 

அதே கேல்வனைஸ்டு ஸ்டீல் காராக இருந்தால் கூடுதலாக அவர் ஒரே சமயத்தில் செலவிடும் தொகை ரூ.9 ஆயிரம், 6 ஆண்டுக்குப் பிறகு ஆயிரம் ரூபாயும் ஆக மொத்தம் 10 ஆயிரம் செலவிட்டால் போதும். கேல்வனைஸ்டு ஸ்டீல் உபயோகம் குறித்து விழிப்புணர்வு அதிகரித்தால் மட்டுமே இங்குள்ள வாடிக்கையாளர்களுக்கும் துருப்பிடிக்காத கார்களை ஆட்டோ மொபைல் நிறுவனங்கள் தயாரிக்கும். இரும்புத் தகடுகளை அதன் உயர்ந்தபட்ச வெப்பத்தில் திரவ துத்தநாகத்தில் மூழ்கடித்து எடுக்கப்படுவதே கேல்வனைஸ்டு ஸ்டீல் எனப்படுகிறது.

This innovative approach involves subjecting rust-prone parts to higher temperatures during manufacturing, effectively rendering rustproofing redundant.
