12 லட்சம் மாணவர்களுக்கு கண் பரிசோதனை - மாண்புமிகு அமைச்சர் மா.சுப்பிரமணியன் உத்தரவு 

 சென்னையில் ‘மெட்ராஸ் ஐ’ வேகமாக பரவுவதால் 12 லட்சம் மாணவர்களுக்கு வரும் 16-ந்தேதி முதல் கண் பரிசோதனை செய்ய அமைச்சர் மா.சுப்பிரமணியன் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளார். 

 வார்டில் ஆய்வு 

சென்னை, எழும்பூர் அரசு கண் ஆஸ்பத்திரியில் மருத்துவம் மற்றும் மக்கள் நல்வாழ்வுத் துறை அமைச்சர் மா.சுப்பிரமணியன் நேற்று ஆய்வு மேற்கொண்டு நோயாளிகளுக்கு வழங்கப்படும் சிகிச்சைகள் குறித்து கேட்டறிந்தார். இதேபோல, ‘மெட்ராஸ் ஐ’ நோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டோருக்கான வார்டில் சென்று ஆய்வு மேற்கொண்டு அளிக்கப்படும் சிகிச்சைகள் குறித்து கேட்டறிந்தார். இதைத்தொடர்ந்து, அமைச்சர் மா.சுப்பிரமணியன் நிருபர்களிடம் கூறியதாவது:-

 ‘மெட்ராஸ் ஐ' என்று அழைக்கப்படும் கண் வெண்படல அழற்சி நோய் சென்னை பகுதியில் சற்று அதிகரிக்க தொடங்கியுள்ளது. குஜராத், மகாராஷ்டிரா, அசாம் போன்ற பல்வேறு மாநிலங்களிலும் இந்த நோய் அதிகரித்து வருகிறது. ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் வடகிழக்கு பருவமழைக்கு முன்பாக இந்த நோய் பாதிப்பு என்பது கூடுதலாகி கொண்டிருக்கிறது. தமிழ்நாடு அரசு எடுத்த விழிப்புணர்வு நடவடிக்கைகளால் இந்தாண்டு நாள் ஒன்றுக்கு 100-க்கும் குறைவானவர்களே இந்நோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டு ஆஸ்பத்திரிக்கு வருகிறார்கள். 

 பருவநிலை மாறுபாடு

Eye examination for 12 lakh students - Hon'ble Minister M. Subramanian orders

  Minister M. Subramanian has ordered 12 lakh students to undergo eye examination from 16th due to the rapid spread of 'Madras Eye' in Chennai.

  Examination of the ward

  Minister of Medicine and Public Welfare, M. Subramanian yesterday conducted an inspection at the Egmore Government Eye Hospital in Chennai and inquired about the treatments provided to the patients. Similarly, he visited the ward for 'Madras Eye' patients and inquired about the treatments being provided. Following this, Minister M. Subramanian told reporters:-

  Conjunctivitis known as 'Madras eye' has started to increase slightly in Chennai region. The disease is also increasing in various states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam. The prevalence of this disease is increasing every year before the northeast monsoon. Due to the awareness measures taken by the Tamil Nadu government, less than 100 people are suffering from this disease every day this year and are coming to the hospital.

  Climate variability

  Currently only 5 people are receiving treatment in 'Madras Eye' ward of Egmore Government Hospital. Symptoms include eye pain, redness, watery eyes, irritation and itching, and a sensation of dust or other foreign matter in the eyes. It can be caused by a variety of viruses and bacteria due to seasonal variation. If affected by this disease, eyes and hands should be washed frequently with good water. Do not self-medicate. Avoid going to public places. Tissue paper and handkerchiefs used by infected people should not be used by others. Eat healthy foods that are rich in vitamins A and C. Rest the eyes. Members of the public must adhere to these guidelines. Similarly, medicines for the treatment of 'Madras Eye' have been advised to be ready.

  Eye examination

  There is a huge need for awareness about 'Madras Eye'. Therefore, it has been decided to conduct eye examination this month for approximately 12 lakh students of corporation schools, private schools and government-aided schools in Chennai. Accordingly, eye examination will be conducted in all schools for 10 consecutive days from 16th to 25th. More than 400 government eye doctors and private hospital doctors are going to be involved in this. This is what he said. E.
