APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO CMRL-SPONSORED "PG DIPLOMA COURSE IN METRO RAIL TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT" AT IIT MADRAS 

Applications are invited from dynamic and result-oriented engineering graduates for one-year "Post Graduate Diploma course in Metro Rail Technology and Management" to be offered by IIT Madras and sponsored by Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a Joint Venture of the Government of India and Government of Tamil Nadu. The course is scheduled to begin during July 2024. Discipline codes and distribution of posts: Code Discipline No. of Posts 01 Civil 3 02 03 ECE EEE 5 6 04 Mech 4 (Reservations as per Gol will be applicable for the total 18 seats) Educational Qualification: First class graduates with a minimum aggregate average of 70% marks (relaxed by 5% for SC/ST candidates) in Civil/ Electrical/Electronics and Communication / Electrical and Electronics / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute, as approved by AICTE / UGC are eligible to apply. The candidates should have a valid GATE score at the time of applying. Final year students who will secure the eligible degree before the commencement of the course can also apply. *CGPA will be converted to percentage marks as per IIT-M senate norms. Age: Not more than 28 years as on 09-06-2024 (relaxation by 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST/ 10years for PWD). Selection Process: The provisional selection is based on the GATE score and interview and the final selection will be subject to medical fitness. Stipend & Consolidated Pay: Candidates on final selection will be designated as Executive Trainees during the course period of one year with a stipend of Rs.30,000/- per month, and CMRL will also bear the necessary sponsorship & tuition fees to IIT Madras. On successful completion of the course, the candidates will be posted as Assistant Manager on contract for a period of 5 years with a consolidated pay of Rs.62,000/- p.m in Chennai Metro Rail Limited.
